Grades & Transcripts

JYM students earn U.S. degree credit through Wayne State University for all coursework in Munich completed under the supervision of the Program.

Grades
Students taking courses at the LMU Munich receive a "certificate of grade" ("einen benoteten Schein") from their German professor. The German number/descriptive scale of grading is then translated into the US letter scale before it is placed on the JYM transcript.

Students taking JYM courses at the JYM institute receive a letter grade; JYM grading is based on a letter scale, A-F.

Wayne State University Transcript
Wayne State University issues official transcripts for all JYM students and forwards them to the Registrar's Office at their home institutions. The Wayne State University transcript is based on a JYM transcript produced at the end of the academic year (for full year students) or academic semester (for one semester-only students).

JYM students also receive official documentation of their enrollment at the LMU Munich in the form on an "Immatrikulationsbescheinigung", as well as official documentation of the courses taken at the university and grades earned in the form of "benotete Scheine."
