JYM and Other Scholarships

Junior Year in Munich scholarships

Thanks to alumni and friends of JYM, we are able to provide approximately $65,000 in program scholarships annually to students in need of financial assistance. Due to the provisions of our scholarship funds, nearly all awards are for students on the full year program. Awards generally range from $2000 to $4000 (the average of JYM scholarships awarded to full-year students in 2018-19 was $4,150). The JYM scholarship application form is part of the JYM online application procedure (see Apply). Award decisions are not made until after the application deadline.

Attention Minnesota students!

Special scholarships are available for students from Minnesota universities and colleges:

1. Within the UMN-Twin Cities Department of German, Scandinavian & Dutch there is a “Junior Year in Munich (JYM) Scholarship” specifically for UMN-TC students admitted to JYM. Visit the Dept of German, Scandinavian & Dutch for details.

2. Students from any accredited institution of higher education in Minnesota (e.g. University of Minnesota system or other colleges and universities in Minnesota) who are accepted to the full-year JYM program will automatically receive a $1500 scholarship from the JYM program.
